ploon.it.group GmbH (“ploon.it group”) has acquired STEP Computer- und Datentechnik Gesellschaft mbH, based in Lörrach, and its Swiss subsidiary STEP Business Solutions AG (together “STEP”), based in Basel, effective June 24, 2025. With this step, the Group is adding a long-established managed IT service provider in Baden-Württemberg and at the same time securing direct access to the Swiss market.
About STEP
STEP has been inspiring its customers as a reliable partner for IT services in the border triangle since 1986. The company employs over 37 qualified staff and has offices in Lörrach, Schönau and Basel.
The service portfolio includes IT services, modular managed services and managed IT security services, IT consulting, IT infrastructure and customized software development.
Strategic importance and synergies
The takeover not only gives the ploon.it group three additional locations in the economically strong south-west region, but also strengthens its expertise in the areas of IT security, managed workplace and software development.

Further expansion of the Local Hero in the region is also planned:
